Question about the Login - Server

Hello all,

at first, my english is not the best, sorry about that.

My Question:
I want to set up an EQ Server and play there with some friends. Is there a way to configure or use my own Login Server?

Thx for any help,

Holzdrache

Hi

You can use the eqemulator.net login. Just have friends create an account here, and make some login server (LS) accounts.

or

You can use Minlogin. This way you can keep your server private, however, Minilogin uses authentication by IP address. So only one account / computer practically.

You can search Minilogin in the forums here, or see the wiki on the main page...

I found these forums great as I was able to find all the answers to my problems by searching the forums

Hope this helps,

Jexl

Just use Hamachi or Softether, the VPN applications.
(VPN = Virtual Private Network)
(example:https://secure.logmein.com/)

Host a VPN network. (add pass)
EQhost.txt should be your Virtual IP.
Tell your friend(s) to hook up into the created network.
eventually, all your friends will need to install Hamachi/softether.
Certificate your friend(s), and get their Virtual IP.
Create account using their Virtual IP.
Done.

Worked fine for me.
Good part is, very easy configuration.
Bad part is, if Hamachi network is down, you're on your own during the weekend.

what version of hamachi are you running, i can connect with my puter that the server is being ran on but others are unable to connect. cant get past logon screen. currently using version 1.0.1.5

for some reason im thinking it has something to do with my eqconfig and login server config, also may be the hamachi lan adapter / connection.
gotta be one of those 3 things.

Vista is a pain when it comes to editing lan adapters, well for me it has been so far.
