Yes, EQC's server is tied to the retail trilogy; however, it must have the red verant logo on the front of the case.

How many retail versions of Trilogy exist? Two? I don't have access to my copy right now, but when I get home I'll look for details.

You can use your kunark cd + a velious copy on top it don't have to be the trilogy pack.

I believe that is wrong, the binaries must be installed from the specific Trilogy cd with a red verant logo. Anything else should return an error as the binaries are completely different and this server is built to support that specific one.

No, you can't. EQClassic used to do that, and a lot of the structures are the same, but it is unsupported for several reasons. (mainly a lot of the s3d files are missing for the velious era if you install that way, which is why we went to Trilogy only.)

Can anyone speak a little bit more on the correct client? Specifically, the retail copy of Trilogy that doesn't start with a Luclin logo? I think a UPC number would be most helpful.

Retail copy of Trilogy from 2001 with the Verant Interactive logo and not the SOE one. It also comes with statues in the box, and the box is slightly larger than the 2002 Trilogy box.
