The Adventure system was first introduced in
LDoN on EQLive. It allows a group/raid of players to enter an instanced zone that will remain private just to them for the duration of the Adventure. While on an Adventure, you are assigned a goal t complete within an allotted amount of time. If the goal(s) are met within the time limit, or even within 30 minutes after the time limit, the group will be rewarded with
LDoN points that can be used to purchase items from Adventure Merchants.
There are multiple types of Adventures including:
Single Boss (Assassinate) - The goal of this Adventure type is to locate the boss of the zone and kill it.
Mob Count - Kill X number of a certain NPC Type in the zone.
Collect - Collect X number of a certain item(s).
Rescue - Locate the NPC to be rescued and finalize the Adventure by meeting the requirements to rescue it.
An explanation of the tables for creating Adventures can be found on the
AdventureTables page.
To receive an Adventure from an Adventure Recruiter, it requires that you have a minimum of 2 characters in your group. This number can be configured through a rule. However, the client enforces groups so at least 2 will always be needed on a stock EQEmu build.
Adventure Recruiters are class 60 and Adventure Merchants are class 61.
