Default Dynamic Zone timeout

I am running EQEmu on a fully patched Windows 2003 server.

Dynamic Zone's 1-4 load without a problem, but 5 just sits there and never loads.

My server shows up in the server list, but it says that it is locked and I obviously cannot connect.

I tried doing some searches on this problem, but was unable to find anything specific. Does anyone know what would cause Dynamic Zone 5 to not respond?

Can you post what is in your start.bat file? If that is setup properly, it should load zones as you have them set in your launcher and launcher_zones tables.

My start.bat file:

@echo off
start world.exe
cls
Echo Wait For World to finish loading... Press Enter when done.
pause
start eqlaunch.exe zone
exit

It looks like it did eventually load that 5th dynamic zone, and the server is no longer locked. However, when I try to connect to it I just time out and crash back to the login screen.

Post your config file and remember to remove your password before posting it. I bet you configured the part of the file that clearly says not to configure it unless you are absolutely positive you need to :P

haha its possible i could have screwed that up.

I don't have access to it at the moment to paste, but I can see that I put an internal IP and the local address in the section that states "only specificy these two if you really think you need to..."

Is that what's causing my problems?

Also the key is "some long random string" is that right?

They key you have set is fine. Setting those 2 address fields will almost always cause issues if you are trying to setup a public server though. If you uncommented those lines to use them, make sure you comment them back out or just delete them from your config file.
