Possible to summon new items while server already up?

I just created some new items.

I can't #summonitem them, says no such item.

I know it works after rebooting the server, but I would rather not reboot the server.

Is there a way to get the item summoned or take effect or something?

Reboot is the only option.

I usually make changes throughout the week and then plan a shutdown the first time I see nobody or few people online... early Sunday morning is usually good.
