SoW seems to work fine on every server Ive tried, but SoWs speed also scales with the level of the caster, so a lowby sow is a lot slower than a high levels SoW.

This is normal.

Sticky somewhere but if you are using multiple core cpu's there can be issues with speed. Generally I heard them going faster then normal but I guess slow is possible. It involves you devoting only 1 single processor to the eq client. It should be in right click menu on eq.exe in your task manager if you using a newer windows.

Otherwise I have also noticed that certain zones speed different at least for me on PEQ. I don't know if it is set up so spells in PoK are max level but my toons always travel faster with a Sow there then anywhere else. Then again I am running a quad core, never devoted to 1 cpu because I haven't really noticed any issues that are too serious personally.
