Default Nexus...

Hello!

I'm trying to figure out how to get the Nexus to work. I have a very recent version of the eq emulator 1/29/2008, and my database is also pretty up to date, along with quests as of 2/2/08.

I zone into the nexus and sit there for 10 to 15 minutes, but nothing happens... no messages every so often, no teleportation. Is there a table or tables in my database that I should look at to see if something isn't enabled for the nexus to work? Timers?.. hmm...

I would greatly appreciate any help,

Thanks!

After reading a few changelogs... I headed out to North Karana to check the spires. I received the item from the Scion, the text counted down the time... but .. no port =( .

Is the Nexus fully implemented ?

Nexus has never worked like your asking.
You need the quest Npcs from some database like PEQ.
Nexus is based off of NPC teleporters on every shard I have ever seen.
except mine.

Yes, Nexus IS fully implemented and working. The only catch is the version of PEQ that has the required db entries isn't public yet. Expect a CVS update within a day or two

It's powered off of the new player quest system and can be previewed on TGC.

I was just gonna say, easy enough to get working just with the perl quests side. Just doesn't seem that important since the POK books replace that.

imho the simplest solution to do nexus was simply hail the Scion and ask him to port you =)

but of course those "life" addicts wanted an independed timer

Thanks for all the responses!

POK may be a lot easier to get from place to place, but I'm more interested in the nostalgic feeling of the old everquest before there was a POK. I have a group of friends who are playing on my server, and we are trying to experience the game as it was then (as close as possible). So far, things have been great. If the Nexus doesn't become implemented by the time we need to use it, we'll just hoof it, bypassing POK.

I was only curious if it was working, and I just didn't have a setting correct, or an old version of a file.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to the release!
